ㅤTo fly over peaks I wish, to kiss
each cloud of raindrops and snowflakes,
before diving down deep, to hover
over rivers, and oceans, and seas.
ㅤI’ll spy a bird breaking free of its shell,
so in due time it can soar up with me,
nest forgotten.
I want to be without a homeland –
the freedom from judging eyes,
from hurtful words and fists.
ㅤI’ll be without association,
without a name to each ancestor
carved inside unwilling flesh.
ㅤI haven’t chosen to be here,
yet here
I must remain.
ㅤHow can I erase this history,
forget all they’ve done
and let my spiritㅤexhale?
In little moments, I really wish
I could just soar and flyㅤaway.

"I’ll be without association,

carved inside unwilling flesh." My favorite part! I loved the nature images, the flow, the subject. <3
